Is your BFF a lazy whiner?

Today’s blog comes early because I have a few moments to spare – and because I’m interested to hear some responses to the topic. I read an article today about a teacher who is fighting to keep her job because of things she said on her personal blog. Please take a moment to read the article by clicking on this link, then share your thoughts below. (By the way, today’s title is a direct reference to the article.)

Some questions to ponder. Should people be penalized for things they say on their personal blog? Do we really have the freedom of speech? If this teacher is punished, what does that say about people who haven’t been punished for more blatant hate speech that is protected under the First Amendment? Are parents trying too hard to be their kids’ friends? Is there, perhaps, some truth to what the teacher said?
