I was leading a devotional this morning and started talking about following the leading of the Holy Spirit. I’m all about analogies, and the one that came to mind was simply this:
These days, many people use some sort of navigational system (GPS, paper map, MapQuest, etc.) when trying to get from point A to point B. If you want to make it to your intended destination, you turn right when the GPS tells you to turn right. As Christians, God speaks to us via our internal navigational system, the Holy Spirit. And we often ignore the instructions and do our own thing in life. So why are we surprised when we find ourselves going in circles?
Do you know where you’re going to?
P.S. In case you were wondering, the title of this post is also the title of the theme from “Mahogany” (a Diana Ross movie from 1975).
