Charlie

I used to have a plant named Charlie. Out of all the plants I had, Charlie was sort of my favorite because he was different than the others. Charlie had been growing wonderfully since I’d gotten him. Then one day, when I came home, he was completely drooped over. I didn’t know what the problem was, and I got worried about Charlie. The next day, as I checked on him and watered him, I started to sing “Cheer Up, Charlie” from “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.” That’s how Charlie got his name. After a few days, Charlie seemed to perk up to his normal self again.

A month or so later, the same thing happened. By this time, I started to search the internet to see what I could find out about the type of plant Charlie was. During my search, I discovered a very important piece of information: Charlie was a hanging plant.

All this time, Charlie had been trying to be what he was naturally designed to be. But I kept trying to get him to be what I assumed he was supposed to be.

Hmm…
